Web Design and Branding: Websites Built to Rank, Redesigns That Keep Your Rankings, Brands That Match
We have designed more than 3,500 websites since 1998, and the busiest part of the business today is repairing sites that other designers redesigned and quietly broke. So every site we build starts with the title tags, headings, navigation words and page connections designed in at the wireframe. Houston offices, clients across the country, everything in-house.

Design
Web design services
WordPress web design
Our bread and butter since WordPress existed. Astra and Elementor Pro, built on hosting we run, every ranking signal under our control.
Website redesign, rankings kept
Same URLs, same link equity, better site. Baseline first, carry every title and heading forward, watch Search Console for 90 days.
Houston web design
Three offices, every corridor of the metro, and the two-minute test for whether a designer knows SEO.
Small business web design
The site a Houston business needs to be found, built in six to eight weeks, with the local pages and the schema most small business sites never get.
Landing page design
Pages for ad campaigns, built to convert and tracked properly, because an ad to a bad page is money on fire.
Mobile-first design
Most of your visitors are on a phone. Every site is designed on the phone first and passes Core Web Vitals there.
Ecommerce and real estate
Stores and listing sites that rank for the product, not just the brand
Ecommerce web design
Stores that rank for product and category searches. WooCommerce first; we will tell you when Shopify is the right call.
WooCommerce web design
The product structure, variants and category pages that make a WooCommerce store findable and fast on our hosting.
Real estate and IDX
IDX and MLS sites with indexable listing pages that rank for subdivision names. A specialty for years.
Branding
The website and the truck wrap should look like the same company
Logo, brand guidelines, business cards, brochures and the print pieces a Houston business still needs. The branding and logo design program makes sure the website, the signage and the social profiles carry the same marks, and the traditional marketing page covers the print and direct mail that still works for practices, firms and contractors.
Rebranding is its own project. When a name or a mark changes, every title tag, every citation and every profile has to change with it in the right order, or the rankings go with the old name. We have done it for firms that merged and practices that were sold, and the search history survived.

The first question to ask any designer
"Do you know SEO?" Nine out of ten say yes. Here is how to check.
Ask for three sites they built. Look at the browser tab: if the title tag is the business name or the word Home, they do not. Look at the navigation: if it says Services and Solutions with no dropdowns, Google cannot get its hooks into it. Scroll to the bottom of an inside page: if nothing connects it to related pages, the site will not hold rankings. Two minutes. The hiring guide has the rest of the questions, and SEO repair is what happens when nobody asked them.
AI-built sites
Generated in an afternoon, they ship with no title tag strategy, decorative headings and no page connections. We see three a week that never got a lead.
Wix, Squarespace, Shopify
Fine for a brochure. The ceiling on structure, speed and schema is low, which is why we convert dozens a year to WordPress with the rankings preserved.
Image licensing
We handle the license on every image we supply and provide it on request while you are a client. A designer who knows image copyright costs less than the letter from the stock agency.
By industry
Each industry searches differently, so each gets its own page
Energy and oilfield services, the industrial and petrochemical companies along Beltway 8, the logistics and aviation businesses around the airport, old Humble’s commercial strip, and the practices, firms, contractors, manufacturers, nonprofits and real estate teams across the rest of Houston. The industry hub lists every one; here are the ones that call most.
Medical and healthcare
Procedure pages that rank, provider pages with Physician schema, HIPAA-aware forms.
Dental
A page for every service patients search, implants to aligners, with live reviews on the page.
Law firms
A page per practice area per county, attorney bios with Person schema, short intake.
Contractors and home services
Service plus neighborhood pages for the subdivisions you actually work.
Manufacturing
Capability and product pages a buyer at a national company can find, with the datasheets they need.
Oil, gas and energy
Service company sites built for the procurement search, not the brochure.
Real estate
IDX sites that rank for subdivision names and agent pages that win the name search.
Political campaigns
Candidate sites built fast and affordably, with the voter data and texting behind them.
Web design near you
Houston, corridor by corridor, and the rest of the country
Google treats web design as a local service, and so do we. Galleria for the west side and the Loop, Kingwood for Lake Houston and Montgomery County, Cypress for the northwest. About half our design clients are outside Texas and the same team does the work. Every community gets its own web design page, listed on the service area index.
Galleria and West Houston
Katy, Energy Corridor, Westchase, Memorial, Spring Branch, Uptown, Midtown, the Heights, the Medical Center.
Kingwood and Lake Houston
Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, IAH and Greenspoint, New Caney, Porter, Conroe, The Woodlands.
Cypress and the Northwest
Cy-Fair, the 290 corridor, 1960 and Cypress Creek, Tomball, Bridgeland, Champions, Klein.
How we work
The process, in order
1. Interview and site map
What the site has to do for the business, who calls, what they type into Google. The page tree gets a keyword on every page before any design tool opens.
2. Design built for search
Wireframes carry the title tag, the H1 and the navigation words. Approved on a real page with real copy.
3. Build on our hosting
Elementor Pro containers, licensed photography, speed tuned at the server. Hosting and support from the people who built it.
4. Wire every page
Related pages, anchor text, FAQ accordions with schema, local business schema. Nothing orphaned.
5. Launch with redirects tested
One-to-one 301s checked live before and after the flip. Search Console verified, sitemap submitted.
6. Watch for 90 days
Weekly Search Console review after launch, then the SEO program if you want it to keep climbing.
What a store build should deliver
What should an ecommerce web design company actually deliver in 2026?
An ecommerce web design company should deliver a store that sells, not just a storefront that looks good on launch day. That means product and category pages that rank, a checkout that works on a phone, inventory and shipping that run without manual work, and data you can use to see what sells.
Most ecommerce website design projects fail in the same places. The category pages have no text, so Google has nothing to rank. The product variants create hundreds of duplicate URLs. The checkout asks for too much. The site was designed on a big monitor and never tested on the phone where most customers shop. Fixing those after launch costs far more than building them right.
Here is what every store we build includes:
- Search structure: category and product pages with unique titles, headings, descriptions and Product schema.
- Mobile checkout: short forms, clear shipping costs and payment options buyers trust.
- Inventory and order flow: stock levels, variants, tax and shipping rules set up so your team is not updating spreadsheets.
- Tracking: GA4 ecommerce events so you can see revenue by product, page and marketing channel.
- Speed: hosting we run and tune for stores, so pages pass Core Web Vitals under real traffic.
See examples and the full process on our ecommerce web design page.
WooCommerce, Shopify and the rest
Which ecommerce platform is right: WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce or Magento?
The platform decision shapes everything that follows, so it should come from your products, your budget and your team, not from what the design agency happens to like. We build WooCommerce first because you own the store, you can move hosts, and it gives SEO the most room to work. We will tell you when Shopify is the right call instead.
Here is how the main commerce platforms compare for the businesses we work with:
- WooCommerce: runs on WordPress, so your content and your store live on one site. Best for businesses that need content to rank, custom product rules or B2B pricing.
- Shopify and Shopify Plus: hosted for you, quick to start, strong apps. Monthly fees and app costs add up, and some SEO settings are locked.
- BigCommerce: hosted like Shopify, with more built-in features for larger catalogs.
- Magento and Adobe Commerce: powerful for very large catalogs and complex operations, with a development budget to match.
If you are torn, read our WooCommerce vs Shopify comparison. It includes the cases where we recommend Shopify. If WooCommerce fits, our WooCommerce web design page covers product structure and variants.
Systems behind the store
Custom website design services for stores that need to scale: CRM, ERP and inventory
Small stores can run on the platform’s built-in tools. Growing stores eventually need the website to talk to the rest of the business: the CRM that tracks customers, the ERP or accounting system that tracks orders, and the inventory system in the warehouse. When those connections are missing, someone on your team is retyping data every day.
We plan for scale before we design. How many products will you carry next year? Do dealers or wholesale buyers need their own prices? Does inventory live in one place or several? Those answers decide the platform, the hosting and the integrations, and they are far less expensive to plan for than to bolt on later.
Manufacturers and distributors have their own needs: product catalogs with spec sheets, request for quote forms next to the cart, and dealer locators. Our dealer and distributor website design page covers those builds. Our business automation team handles the connections between the store and your other systems.
Conversion, not decoration
Ecommerce website design and user experience: how a design agency raises your conversion rate
A small change in conversion rate is worth more than a big change in traffic. If a store converts more of the visitors it already has, every marketing dollar goes further. That is why the user experience gets as much attention as the look of the storefront.
The basics matter most. Product photos that show the item clearly. Prices and shipping costs visible before checkout. Reviews on the product page, so a consumer can see that real people bought it. A search box that finds products by the words customers use. Trust signals near the cart, such as secure checkout and a clear return policy. Each one removes a reason to leave.
Your marketing should match your store, too. Email, paid search, social media and SEO all land on product and category pages, so those pages have to be built to sell. A store that depends on Amazon alone does not get much help ranking its own site from that, so we build the website to stand on its own. Our guide to ecommerce conversion explains where most stores lose buyers.
Budget and timeline
How much does it cost to hire an ecommerce website design agency, and how long does a project take?
Cost depends on the platform, the number of products, the integrations and the content. A store with a few dozen products on WooCommerce is a very different project from a catalog with thousands of products, dealer pricing and an ERP connection. Any agency that quotes a price before asking about your products and systems is guessing.
Time depends on the same things, plus how quickly product data and photos are ready. Content is usually the slowest part of an ecommerce project, not the code. We give you a written quote and schedule after a free review, so you know the budget and the steps up front.
Ecommerce web design agencies and dropship website builders are not the same thing. A dropship builder sells a template stocked with a supplier’s catalog. A real ecommerce design company builds around your products, your margins and your customers, and it plans the SEO so the store can earn traffic without depending on ads forever. We have designed more than 3,500 websites since 1998, and every store is built by our in-house team.
Development, data and commerce
Ecommerce development: commerce architecture, data and mobile shopping
Ecommerce website design is only half of a store. The other half is development: the commerce architecture that holds products, prices, customers and orders, and the data that flows between the store and the rest of the business. A store can look great and still lose sales if that part is weak.
Good ecommerce architecture starts with the catalog. Categories, attributes and variants should match how customers shop, not how the warehouse labels things. Product data should live in one place, so a price change shows up everywhere at once. Order data should reach your accounting or ERP system without anyone retyping it. When those pieces are planned first, the storefront design has something solid to sit on.
Mobile comes next. Most shoppers browse on a phone, so the mobile storefront gets designed first: large product images, filters that work with a thumb, a cart that is easy to find and a checkout with as few steps as possible. Every improvement there shows up in the conversion rate and the average order value.
- Headless architecture: a separate front end and commerce back end. Powerful for very large brands, usually more than a small or mid-size store needs.
- Platform commerce: WooCommerce, Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce or Adobe Commerce handle the back end, and the design sits on top. The right fit for most ecommerce brands.
- Ongoing maintenance: updates, security, speed and backups after launch, so the store keeps working as it grows.
We handle that development in-house, on hosting we run. See ecommerce web development for the technical side.
Partner or in-house
Should you build an in-house ecommerce team or hire an ecommerce design agency partner?
Most small and mid-size stores are better served by an agency partner than by hiring a full in-house team. Running a store well takes a designer, a developer, a writer, an SEO specialist, a paid search manager and someone who understands hosting. Few businesses can keep all of those people busy full time. An ecommerce design agency gives you that range for the cost of the work you actually need.
An in-house team makes sense when commerce is the whole business model and the store is large enough to keep specialists busy every day. Even then, many brands keep an outside partner for development, hosting or digital marketing, because the skills change fast.
If you hire a partner, judge the approach, not the pitch. Ask for a portfolio of stores they built and still support. Ask how they measure success: traffic, conversion rate, revenue or something vaguer. Ask who does the work, and whether any of it is sent offshore. Ask what the engagement looks like after launch. We answer those questions in writing. Our in-house team handles design, development, hosting, SEO and more than $1M in annual PPC, and our original 1998 client is still with us, which is the commitment we bring to every store.
Before you contact anyone, have your goals ready: what you sell, who buys it, where sales come from today and where you want them to come from. That one page of ideas is worth more than any request for proposal. When you are ready, contact us or request a free website analysis.
Questions
Web design FAQ
A small business site is typically six to eight weeks from kickoff to launch. Ecommerce, IDX and multi-location sites run longer, and the schedule is in the proposal.
Yes. Roughly half our design clients are outside Houston. Design, development, hosting and support all happen in-house, so distance does not change the service.
You do. Domain, content, images we licensed for you, and the WordPress install. If you ever leave, it goes with you.
Small business sites start in the low thousands; ecommerce, IDX and multi-location sites are quoted after a short consultation. Pricing is published and never hidden behind a sales call.
Yes, and we do it most weeks. We baseline the rankings first so nothing is lost in the move. If the last redesign already broke the rankings, we start with the repair.
WordPress is the platform we recommend because we can control every ranking signal on it and host it ourselves. We convert Squarespace, Wix and Shopify sites to WordPress regularly, keeping the rankings during the move.
It plans, designs and builds an online store: product and category pages, checkout, inventory and shipping rules, payment setup, tracking and the SEO structure that helps the store rank. A good one also connects the store to your CRM or accounting system when you need it.
We build WooCommerce first because you own the store and it gives SEO the most room. We will recommend Shopify when it is the better fit for your products, team and budget.
It depends on the platform, product count, integrations and content. We give you a written quote after a free review, before any work starts.
It depends on the size of the catalog, the integrations and how fast product data and photos are ready. You get a written schedule with the quote.
A dropship builder sells a template filled with a supplier’s catalog. An ecommerce design agency builds around your own products, customers and systems, with SEO planned so the store can rank.
Tell us what the site needs to do for the business. We will design backward from that.
